Just the Facts . . .
Welcome, Dolphin Parents and Swimmers!!
We are so excited about the 2017 swim season, and are thrilled that you will be a part of it! Whether you’re new to the Dolphins or have been with us for many years, we’d like to provide you with an overview some essentials that will help you get through the season!
HOW TO REGISTER:
Registration is online only this year! The link is at the top of the Home page.
Registration opens on March 17th and ends April 1st ($25 late fee will be incurred for registrations submitted after April 1st).
Complete registration info, waivers, and sign up for 4 parent volunteer shifts
Fee is $115 per swimmer and includes all meet registrations, T-shirt and awards. Participation trophies will be given to swimmers age 12 and under.
We will start our pre-season practices the week of May 1st, 2017, for all swimmers.
The regular practice schedule (morning & evening) commences on Tuesday, May 30th.
We will hold TIME TRIALS for all swimmers at our practice meet on Saturday, May 20th from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Please plan on swimming with us through the ASA Divisional Championship meet, which will be at the GA Tech pool on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. ASA Divisional Finals will be held on Saturday, July 1st.
The more practices your child attends, the more improvement you will see in technique and endurance. Plus, it is a giant social hour! We understand that many of our younger swimmers will be attending camps, and some of our older swimmers have jobs, however, we’d like for them to attend as many practices as possible. That is one reason why we hold both morning and evening practices. Swimmers may come to morning or evening practice (or both!) on any given day. Morning practices tend to be less chaotic and offer the best opportunity for the coaches and the swimmers to really work on stroke technique. The morning after a meet is usually “game day,” rather than a formal practice, although that evening will be a regular practice

Meets are held on Tuesday evenings (except the last week when it will be on Monday) at 6:00 p.m. It is essential that everybody be at the pool by 5:00 p.m. in order to warm-up, write events on swimmers’ arms, and get lined up for relays. We also need our volunteers ready to “work,” so arriving on time is hugely appreciated (and necessary!). Come prepared! Bring a cooler with drinks and food. Our concessions are great, but we can make no promises about the other pools we visit! Bring plenty of towels and extra goggles (and maybe a spare suit!). Folding camp chairs and rain gear also come in handy!

All communications will be coming from the Dolphins WebsiteIf something changes and your child (or you, if you are volunteering) cannot make, please call or text us ASAP! We try to put everybody in a relay, and if one swimmer does not show up, three of their teammates may not be able to swim either. If it is 5:15 p.m. on a meet night, and you are stuck in traffic or having a swimsuit malfunction, PLEASE CALL! We have our cell phones charged and ready!

Pot Luck Dinners: Please join us for swim team family pot luck dinners at 6:30 p.m. Monday evenings before meets, beginning June 6th. We provide the drinks and paper goods; you bring the food! We recommend that you make twice as much as you normally would; these kids are hungry after practice (not to mention the parents, who can also put it away)!
Lessons from the Coaches: The coaches can be engaged to provide individual and small group swim lessons at a reasonable rate. They can help with anything from getting your three year old to put his face in the water to perfecting IM transitions. All of their schedules are different, so please speak with them directly.
Pool Hours: The pool will not be open for anything but swim team practice before the season begins, and not until 10:00 a.m. during the summer. The baby pool will not be available for younger siblings, and the deep end will also be off-limits during these times!
LCP Swim Team Website: https://leafmoredolphins.swimtopia.com/We recommend that you bookmark it, and put it in your “Favorites” directory! Here you can find the schedule, contact information for the coaches, great photos, and maps to away meets.
Contact Us: You can call us at the cell numbers listed above under Communications or email the Swim Council at email@example.com. This site is checked every few days.
